WIND’s Programs

We come alongside the teachers and leadership team at Colegio Horeb as they seek to provide quality education based on Biblical principles. We work directly with teachers to improve teaching technique and strategy. Under the strong leadership of Principal Tabita Toma, there are now 28 teachers and close to 500 students in grades Pre-K through High School.

WIND is also leading the effort to build a new school in Cotzal that will one day allow 700 students to study and achieve new heights. Three buildings, housing twelve classrooms, have been completed along with a multi-use sport court.

Through the sponsorship programs, WIND supports continuing education for at-risk and gifted students. Our 21 Girls and El Camino programs encourage all kids to stay in school and graduate from ninth grade.

We help facilitate the training of church pastors and leaders through the Jorai Bible Institute. We have launched a Biblical Studies Certificate program for pastors and lay leaders.

WIND initiated a feeding program to meet the needs of malnourished children who struggle in the classroom, providing lunches for 45 students each day.

Also, it is the vision of WIND to deliver a progressive and sustainable dental program which will forever change the dental health in the community of San Juan Cotzal.

Besides this, WIND has helped facilitate medical care for significant conditions when needs arise in the community. Watch this video for an example.
